Haworth Inn, Downtown Holland
March 19, 20, 2010
The retreat will begin at 7:00 PM Friday and end at 4:00 PM Saturday. In the past we have had an extended free time in the afternoon. This year we will not. You can choose when and if you want extra time “out with the girls.” You may check in as early as 3:00 on Friday afternoon. You could arrange an afternoon of shopping and going out to dinner with some friends.
Your stay at the Inn will also include a guest pass for the Holland Aquatic Center. Perhaps you may want to work out before the retreat begins. If you can’t get away early on Friday, plan to stick around Saturday night, (let your husband put the kids to bed) and enjoy dinner out. Or bring clothes to bundle up and enjoy the evening sunset. If you are a “regular” at retreat, be sure to include some of our new ladies in your plans.
Register at the GCC Welcome Center. Contact Christi Waite if you have questions.
From Lois Krogh -
"It is my delight to invite you to this years women’s retreat, March 19-20, and to share with you all the surprises your retreat committee has been impatiently keeping secret. The biggest surprise is our new location. This year’s retreat will be held at the Haworth Inn in downtown Holland. The accommodations are deluxe. Our meeting room and dining room are elegant. We are a block from specialty shops of every kind. For the adventurous ones among us, the new board walk along Lake Macatawa is just minutes away.
In response to feedback, the schedule has been changed. The retreat will begin at 7:00 PM Friday and end at 4:00 PM Saturday. In the past we have had an extended free time in the afternoon. This year we will not. You can choose when and if you want extra time “out with the girls.” You may check in as early as 3:00 on Friday afternoon. Your retreat committee is very excited about this year’s speaker. We are pleased to have Jani Ortlund opening the word of God to us. Jani is a pastor’s wife, mother and author of Fearlessly Feminine and His loving law, Our Lasting Legacy: Living the Ten Commandments and Giving Them to Our Children. Her husband, Ray Ortlund, Jr, is pastor of Immanuel Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Based on 1 Peter 1:22, she will be speaking on “Loving One Another Earnestly from a Pure Heart.” We, as a community of grace, are comprised of women in all different stages of life with different outlooks, different backgrounds, different abilities and different schedules. What does this look like for us to love one another sacrificially? I believe we will all be encouraged by Jani’s warm and practical teaching on this subject.
I’m looking forward to all of us, including the new ladies among us, being together again.
