Dear GCC Homeschool Families,
I know its finally spring, but Lois tells me that its time to put the word out to everyone planning their upcoming school year that, Lord willing, I will be teaching a Greek class this fall. So here goes! If you don’t know, I love teaching Greek and have inflicted the wonders of the Greek language on each of our kids, bless their souls.
Attached you will find information regarding the class, which meets on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. As the flyer explains, this is not a “Greek roots” type course. We will be learning the actual Greek language at a college level, just moving a bit slower. We will take two years to cover one year of college-level Greek.
If you want to check things out and see how some GCC kids not only survived, but thrived and enjoyed this endeavor, previous “graduates” include: Jeff Anderson; Suzanna Brown; Ethan Dykstra; Hannah & Jake Ketcham; Brenton & Justin Leasure; Ethan, Grace & Seth Lonsway; Kelly, Joel, Iain, Avery Miller; Joshua Moore. Please feel free to contact them or their parents. For a biased report, talk to my kids!
The class isn’t just for kids, as previous classes have included intrepid adults desiring to learn Greek. If that’s you, please join us! Space permitting, there is no cost for parents whose kids are attending.
The class is limited in size and will be open to the larger homeschool community, so please register to reserve a place. I consider it a special privilege to teach the young people of our church body, as it provides opportunity for me to spend time with them, teaching them and encouraging them in their walk with Christ.
One last thing, I have found that when people invest money in the class, they diligently show up! Attendance is essential to learn a foreign language, as it involves both content and skill, which accumulate over time. The cost of the class is similar or lower than a comparable class at the Homeschool Building. If the tuition is a hardship, please let me know and we can work something out.
This will be my third time to teach a two-year Greek cycle of classes at Grace. I think your kids will learn an amazing amount and actually enjoy the process. It is my prayer that God will raise up young adults who have a firm grasp on and confidence in the Word they stake their lives upon.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Also, feel free to pass this information on to anyone you know who may be interested.
Blessings,
Steve Krogh
